Clinton Global Initiative University
UNIL participates in the Clinton Global Initiative network of universities created by the former US President. The network aims to offer students in the partner institutions the opportunity to develop a project, combined with an action plan, to tackle the challenges of the major issues in today's world.
The International Relations Office offers administrative and financial support to students who wish to submit a project (USD 10,000 split between the projects selected).
World's Challenge Challenge
The World’s Challenge Challenge (WCC), launched by Western University in Canada, which is a UNIL partner, encourages young minds from different disciplines to come together to address a global issue (poverty, food insecurity, public health, inequality or environmental degradation), and to offer solutions to implement in partnership with local communities. A competition open to students is organised each year.
The Undergraduate Awards
UNIL has been affiliated to the Undergraduate Awards network since 2016.
The aim of the network is to reward the best work by undergraduate students worldwide. Students can submit individual pieces of work that have been assessed as outstanding by their home institution for evaluation by the experts of the Undergraduate Awards network.
Those selected in each category are invited to take part in a four-day summit in Dublin with their peers from all over the world and their work is published in the Undergraduate Journal.
Collège de France
UNIL and the Collège de France have entered into a special partnership in 2008. It allows each year two UNIL faculties to invite professors of the Collège de France for a public conference.
